Donna was born July 17, 1932, and passed away February 1, 2010. She is survived by her husband Charles Aurand, five children: Janice Hirschi, Cheryl McMillen, Sandra Burris, Charles III, and William, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandson. A graduate of Flint Central High School (MI) in 1950, she received her baccalaureate degree from Michigan State College (University) in 1954, a Master of Science degree in Education from Youngstown State University (OH) in 1972, and a Doctor of Education degree from Northern Arizona University in 1977. Donna enjoyed a full life which included travel to many parts of the world. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Professional Educators Organization (PEO), and the Resurrection Lutheran Church. She enjoyed all of the fine arts as well as bridge, golf, and social contact with her many friends and relatives. Donna was an outstanding educator and educational supervisor. Her family wishes to thank the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their loving care for the past two years as well as the Carondelet Hospice care for their assistance during the final weeks of her 25 year struggle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Oro Valley; internment will be at the columbarium at the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona.
