Biography

Stephen Hunt Watry died January 16, 2010 in SaddleBrooke, AZ. Born in Oakland, CA on February 26, 1943 to Dorothy and Charles Watry, who preceded him in death. Survived by wife, Susan Case; step-mother, Jean Macchiavelli, of Sacremento, CA; brother Nick (Stella) Watry, of San Luis Obispo, CA; son, Tim Watry, of Cotati, CA; daughter Julanne Watry, of Santa Rosa, CA; and granddaughters Janie and Teddie, of Santa Rosa, CA.

Steve obtained his B.S. and MPA degrees from Sacramento State University. He worked for various California cities in the area of redevelopment and community development, retiring from the City of San Carlos in 2002 as the Community Development Director.

Until recently he has been active in the civic affairs of the community of SaddleBrooke. Steve leaves behind many loving friends in both Arizona and California.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 23, 2010 at Vistoso Funeral Home, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rotary International Foundation.
