BiographyGus, 62 passed away on December 13, 2009 in Tucson, AZ. He was born July 7, 1947 in Delhi, LA. Gus served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970, USS Hornet, CVS-12 Vietnam (3 tours). He received 3 bronze stars and was also awarded a medal for service with the Apollo 12 & 13. He became a life member of the VFW Post 10254. Gus was devoted to his Cherokee Nation heritage, surpassed only by his devotion to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.G. Nappier, Sr. and Tressie Elaine Nappier. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Betty Ann Nappier; his sons, Michael Dewayne Strahan of Terrell, TX, and Andre Hawke Taylore of Tucson, AZ; daughters-in-law Peggy Strahan and Kim Taylore, as well as 6 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at VFW Post #10254, 10111 S. Sasabe Highway, Tucson, AZ 85736. Memorial Service
